Our Story

Fashion and nature, ethics and aesthetics, matter and colors. This is the magic formula behind Made For A Woman’s brand - bringing colorful, textured bags and accessories to the world right from the beating heart of Madagascar. A sustainable project that has been turned into a virtuous cycle by Eileen Akbaraly, the founder, who has long been committed to supporting the local communities by improving their health, salaries, and education. With the help of local women artisans, Eileen transforms raphia and pigments into soft, sometimes geometric, but always unique shapes. An originality that has turned into a mantra.

The Founder

Eileen Akbaraly, Italian-Indian born in 1994, grows up in Madagascar. If her Indian heritage makes her especially sensitive to the vibrations of colors, spending her youth in Africa is what sparks her fascination with real artisanship. That’s what inspires her tactile creativity, strongly linked to manual crafts.

After working with several NGOs in Madagascar and studying Fashion Business at the Marangoni Institute of Milan, she decides to focus on the very current topic of corporate social responsibility in fashion with a master in Global Communications in Paris.

In 2019, her fashionable and humanitarian sides collide to create the Made for a Woman brand. Today, she spends half of her time in Milan, the heart of business, and then goes back to Madagascar, where together with her team she creates unique and exclusive products, giving back to the women artisans of her beloved homeland.
